Rafael Nadal achieved a notable milestone in his grass-court career by reaching 30 wins faster than Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Nadal’s record stands at 30-7, surpassing Federer’s 30-11 and Djokovic’s 30-9.
Carlos Alcaraz, who has already equaled Nadal with two Wimbledon titles, has made an impressive start on grass courts. The 22-year-old is the fastest player to reach 30 wins on grass among those who have been ranked No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings during the Open Era. Alcaraz reached this mark after defeating Fabio Fognini in the first round of Wimbledon, accumulating only three losses on the surface.
John McEnroe and Boris Becker are tied for second place, each needing 35 matches to achieve 30 victories according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. This year, Alcaraz aims to secure his third Wimbledon title, matching McEnroe and Becker’s career achievements.
Alcaraz is currently on a 13-match winning streak on grass, which began after last year’s early exit against Jack Draper at The Queen’s Club. The five-time major champion has defeated Novak Djokovic in the past two Wimbledon finals (2024, 2023) and hasn’t lost at Wimbledon since falling to Jannik Sinner in the round of 16 in 2022.
In his next match, Alcaraz will face British qualifier Oliver Tarvet in the second round of Wimbledon. A victory would place him among a select group of players with a consecutive win streak of at least 20 matches this century.
