Opening Saturday at Wimbledon is traditionally marked by the presence of sporting legends in the Royal Box. This year, among those attending was Andy Roddick, who watched Jannik Sinner secure a third-round victory on Centre Court.

Roddick, a former No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, has reached the Wimbledon final three times but was defeated each time by Roger Federer, an eight-time champion (2004, 2005, 2009). Roddick’s major career triumph came at the US Open in 2003, making him the last American man to win a Grand Slam title. Current American players Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, and Brandon Nakashima are competing this year with hopes of changing that record.

Other notable figures present included Billie Jean King and former England cricket captain Andrew Strauss. The day’s play on Centre Court was set to conclude with Novak Djokovic facing Miomir Kecmanovic.
