Alexander Bublik has claimed his second consecutive tour-level title by winning the Generali Open in Kitzbuehel. On Saturday, he defeated Frenchman Arthur Cazaux for the second time in two weeks to secure the ATP 250 trophy.

Bublik previously overcame Cazaux on his way to victory in Gstaad last week and repeated his success at the clay-court event. “I can’t believe I did it as it was probably one of the toughest weeks in my life because coming from Gstaad, playing here, different conditions and raining. I am pleased I got through and thank you for supporting me throughout the tournament,” Bublik expressed.

In challenging rainy conditions, Bublik’s powerful play overpowered Cazaux. He led confidently after a strong first set and increased his performance with strategic shots during the second set. This win improves his record against Cazaux to 3-0 in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series.

“I knew he was having the week of his life,” Bublik commented about Cazaux. “That was my 14th final. but I remember the first one like it was yesterday. It was very tough but I wish him all the success. I used the few chances I had and I am happy to have won.”

Bublik’s victory streak now extends to eight matches, according to Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index, with a notable 17-2 record since Roland Garros where he reached a major quarter-final for the first time. This season marks a milestone for Bublik as he has won three trophies, including triumphs at Gstaad and an ATP 500 event in Halle where he upset World No. 1 Jannik Sinner.

Following this win, Bublik rises five spots to No. 25 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings and is also up five places in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, now sitting at 11th position. His achievements place him alongside Casper Ruud (2021) and Matteo Berrettini (2024) as players who have consecutively won both Gstaad and Kitzbuehel.

Arthur Cazaux reached his first tour-level final with this match, climbing 25 spots to No. 75 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings following his performance.
