Czech tennis players Petr Nouza and Patrik Rikl secured their second title as a team at the Generali Open in Kitzbuehel. They defeated Austrian duo Neil Oberleitner and Joel Schwaerzler with scores of 1-6, 7-6(3), 10-5. The victory was achieved by winning 78 percent of their first-serve points on the clay court, according to Infosys ATP Stats. After an 84-minute match, they emerged victorious by pulling ahead from a tie at 4/4 in the Match Tie-break.

“It is amazing,” said Nouza. “It has been a very tough week for us. A long week, but we made it work. All the way from the first round, there have been hard matches. Today especially. We didn’t start very well and the opponents were playing great but we turned it around at the end. We stick together and help each other.”

Nouza and Rikl had previously won their first tour-level title in Marrakech in April. On their way to victory in Austria, they defeated fourth seeds Ariel Behar and Joran Vliegen as well as second seeds Francisco Cabral and Lucas Miedler.

Meanwhile, Monaco’s Romain Arneodo and France’s Jonathan Guinard triumphed at Umag after surviving a challenging first round where they saved three match points against Matej Dodig and Nino Serdarusic. In the final, they narrowly defeated Trhac and Willis after one hour and 33 minutes of play.

Arneodo and Guinard moved up two spots to No. 12 in the PIF ATP Doubles Team Rankings following this win. Earlier this year, they also claimed victory at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Monte-Carlo.
