Novak Djokovic advanced to his 14th Wimbledon semi-final after defeating Flavio Cobolli in a challenging match on Wednesday. Despite losing the first set, Djokovic rallied to win 6-7(6), 6-2, 7-5, 6-4.

Djokovic slipped during a crucial moment but managed to recover and complete the match in three hours and 11 minutes. “Well I finished the match,” he said regarding his fall. He acknowledged the slip as part of playing on grass and plans to consult with his physio.

The Serbian faced difficulty against Cobolli’s athleticism and shot depth but used his experience to overcome the Italian’s strong performance. Djokovic praised Cobolli for an impressive tournament debut at Centre Court, highlighting his serve and skill.

With this victory, Djokovic is closer to achieving a record-extending 25th major title. If successful, he will tie Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon titles. Djokovic will face Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals, who leads their head-to-head series 5-4.

During the match, Djokovic struggled initially but improved his serve accuracy significantly in the second set. Cobolli had moments of brilliance but faltered at critical points, allowing Djokovic to capitalize and secure victory.

Cobolli has moved up five spots to No. 19 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings following his recent successes despite earlier injuries this season.
