Who will claim victory in the Wimbledon final, World No. 1 Jannik Sinner or two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz? Novak Djokovic, who was defeated by Sinner in the semi-finals, shared his thoughts on the upcoming match.
“I think I will give a slight edge to Carlos as a favourite because of the two titles he’s won here and the way he’s playing and the confidence he has right now,” Djokovic said. “But it’s just a slight advantage ’cause Jannik is hitting the ball extremely well.”
Djokovic, a seven-time Wimbledon champion, has faced both finalists before. He lost to Alcaraz in previous championship matches at The Championships and was also defeated by Sinner in recent majors.
Last month, Sinner held three championship points during the Roland Garros final but was unable to overcome Alcaraz, who secured the Coupe des Mousquetaires. With their next encounter imminent at SW19, Djokovic anticipates another exciting match.
“I think it’s going to be, again, a very close matchup like we had in Paris,” Djokovic concluded.
