Joao Fonseca’s first-round match at the National Bank Open Presented by Rogers has been rescheduled to Monday. This change comes after rain delayed three Toronto qualifying matches, which were not completed until Sunday. As a result, qualifiers could not be placed in the draw until those matches concluded.

Once the qualifiers were finalized, Fonseca was set to face Tristan Schoolkate. Schoolkate recently gained attention for winning a set against Jannik Sinner in the second round of this year’s Australian Open. Since Schoolkate qualified on Sunday, their match will take place on Monday. This will mark their first Lexus ATP Head2Head meeting.

Originally, Fonseca was scheduled to play as the second match on Sunday evening at centre court. In his place, Shang Juncheng’s match against James Duckworth has been moved to that slot.

The full Toronto order of play for Sunday includes Gael Monfils among other notable players.
