Grigor Dimitrov’s journey at Wimbledon came to an abrupt end due to a pectoral muscle injury. The Bulgarian tennis player was leading Jannik Sinner by two sets in the fourth round when he had to retire from the match. Following this, Dimitrov shared his feelings and future plans with fans on social media.

“Sometimes the heart wants to keep going… but the universe has a different plan for us,” Dimitrov expressed in an Instagram post accompanied by a photo of him in a hospital bed. He described withdrawing from Wimbledon as one of the most painful moments of his career. “Thank you for the overwhelming wave of love — from family, friends, fans, colleagues, to the entire tennis community… your messages have genuinely lifted me through these hard times. Thank you all. Truly. Recovery starts now. I’ll see you all soon. G.”

Dimitrov is currently ranked No. 21 in the PIF ATP Rankings and has won nine ATP Tour titles throughout his career. This season, he holds a record of 14 wins and 10 losses, with significant victories at ATP Masters 1000 events. However, injuries have forced him to retire from four consecutive Grand Slam tournaments, including this year’s Australian Open and Roland Garros.
