Harris advances to second round at Lexus Eastbourne Open

British tennis player Billy Harris advanced to the second round of the Lexus Eastbourne Open on Tuesday after defeating fellow countryman Cameron Norrie with a score of 6-4, 6-4. This victory marks Harris’s first Top 100 win since he defeated Flavio Cobolli last year at the same tournament, where he reached his maiden ATP Tour semi-final. Harris is set to face Italian Mattia Bellucci in his next match.

In other matches, eighth seed Nuno Borges secured a win against British wild card Jack Pinnington Jones, with scores of 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Borges has achieved 20 tour-level wins for the second consecutive season and will play against Jenson Brooksby next. Brooksby won against Francisco Comesana in straight sets.

Reilly Opelka overcame a challenge from British qualifier George Loffhagen to continue his successful grass-court season. Opelka served 19 aces and won their encounter with scores of 7-6(6), 3-6, 7-6(1). He will meet Jakub Mensik in the upcoming round.

Additionally, James Duckworth triumphed over Aleksandar Vukic with scores of 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-1. Marcos Giron also claimed victory by defeating Luciano Darderi with a scoreline of 6-4, 7-5.
