The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has announced that the 2025 NEC Wheelchair Singles Masters and UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters will be held in Huzhou, Zhejiang, China, from November 10 to 16. This is the first time these events will take place in China.
A hosting agreement was signed between the ITF and CSCEC Huaxia (Beijing) Industrial Operation Management Co., Ltd. The tournament will be hosted at the Huzhou International Clay Tennis Center, which is described as the largest indoor clay court facility in Asia. The venue was officially opened by former tennis professionals Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi in March 2025.
China Open Training Pro (COTP), known for organizing international tennis tournaments in China, has been named as the official promoter of the event. An official ceremony took place at ITF headquarters on July 4 to acknowledge contributions from key partners, including Mr Yun Chuan and the Enrique Esteire Perla in Memoriam Association.
Chinese wheelchair tennis athletes have achieved notable successes over the past year. Guo Luoyao and Wang Ziying won a bronze medal in women’s doubles at Paris 2024, marking China’s first Paralympic wheelchair tennis medal. Wang Ziying and Li Xiaohui claimed titles at both the 2025 Australian Open and Wimbledon Women’s Wheelchair Doubles competitions and are currently ranked among the world’s top five singles players. Wang Ziying also secured a singles championship at Wimbledon in 2025.
The NEC Wheelchair Singles Masters and UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters conclude the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour season, featuring leading men’s, women’s, and quad singles and doubles competitors globally. The ITF states its ongoing commitment to expanding opportunities for people with disabilities through wheelchair tennis.
ITF President David Haggerty said: “Bringing the Wheelchair Masters to China is a significant milestone in our ambition to grow the sport globally. We are grateful to CSCEC Huaxia (Beijing) Industrial Operation Management Co., Ltd. and COTP for their commitment to hosting the event, to NPC China and CDPF for their support, and to the Enrique Esteire Perla in Memoriam Association for helping bring this partnership together.
