Indonesia’s tennis team secured a spot in the Group III promotion play-off after defeating Jordan. The victory was driven by Muhammad Rifqi Fitriadi, who played a crucial role in maintaining Indonesia’s perfect record in the Asia/Oceania Group III.
The match required significant effort from Suharyadi Suharyadi’s team, with Fitriadi and Christopher Rungkat winning their doubles match against Mohammad and Mousa Alkotop 7-5, 6-3 to secure the result.
Earlier, Fitriadi had leveled the tie with a singles win over Mousa Alkotop. He saved a set point with a backhand pass and then won the tie-break before finishing the match 7-6(5), 6-3.
In another singles match, Mohammad Alkotop gave Jordan an early lead by defeating Nathan Anthony Barki 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Elsewhere in Pool B, Sri Lanka defeated Cambodia 2-1. In Pool A, Thailand and Singapore both achieved victories. Thailand’s win over Saudi Arabia earned them top position in Pool B and a place in next year’s World Group II Play-offs.
