Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz avenged their previous year’s loss at the Terra Wortmann Open by defeating Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in the final on Sunday. The German duo won with a score of 6-3, 7-6(4) to secure the ATP 500 trophy. Reflecting on the match, Krawietz remarked during the trophy ceremony, “Tough battle every time. Last time was okay, but not two in a row to be honest!” He added that facing each other was a positive sign as it indicated progress in the tournament.

The victory ties both teams at 3-3 in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series. Krawietz and Puetz successfully saved all three break points they encountered, according to Infosys ATP Stats, marking their fourth ATP Tour title as a team and third in Germany. During the ceremony, Puetz humorously acknowledged their opponents by saying, “Congrats on a great week again. Thanks for letting us win once here in Germany!” He praised Bolelli and Vavassori as friends and valued practice partners.

Currently, Krawietz and Puetz hold seventh place in the PIF ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings while Bolelli and Vavassori are sixth. Both pairs aim to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals for another year.

In another event at Queen’s Club, Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool emerged victorious against Nikola Mektic and Michael Venus with scores of 6-3, 6-7(5), 10-6 during the HSBC Championships final. The British pair capitalized on home support to claim their second ATP 500 title this season.

Cash noted how crucial fan support was during critical moments of the match: “Out here today [there were] some tight moments and they got loud when it got to the end there,” he said. Glasspool also commented on their performance stating, “The crowd was amazing. I think we stuck to our guns, stuck to serving our spots.” This win adds to Cash and Glasspool’s successful season following victories in Brisbane and Doha. They currently rank fourth in the PIF ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings.
