The National Bank Open Presented by Rogers is set to begin in Toronto, marking the first of two ATP Masters 1000 events in North America. The tournament will feature prominent players such as Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Lorenzo Musetti, and Ben Shelton.

Alexander Zverev leads the field as the top seed. He could potentially face Joao Fonseca in the third round. Zverev is aiming for his eighth ATP Masters 1000 title and his first since winning in Paris last year. His participation follows a surprising early exit at Wimbledon.

Taylor Fritz, ranked fourth globally, seeks his second ATP Masters 1000 title. Despite never advancing beyond the third round in Toronto, he enters the tournament with strong performances from Eastbourne and Wimbledon.

Lorenzo Musetti, Ben Shelton, and Holger Rune are among the top five seeds. Musetti has shown strength on clay but struggled recently on grass courts. Shelton has previously excelled in North America, while Rune has recovered from a back injury that forced him out of Washington.

The PIF ATP Live Race To Turin sees Musetti, Fritz, and Shelton currently positioned sixth through eighth. They aim to improve their standings for the Nitto ATP Finals with successful runs in Toronto.

Young talents like Jakub Mensik and Joao Fonseca are set to make their debuts at this event. Mensik enters as the 12th seed following his victory in Miami earlier this year.

French player Arthur Fils returns after recovering from an injury sustained during Roland Garros. Canadians Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov lead local hopes; both have secured tour-level titles this season.

Daniil Medvedev and Alexei Popyrin return as former champions of Canadian Masters 1000 events. Medvedev aims for his first win since Rome 2023.

This year’s tournament introduces a new 12-day format to align with other expanded ATP Masters 1000 events. The schedule includes family-friendly activities during opening weekend and high-energy night sessions during Championship Week.

In doubles action, Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic lead as top seeds alongside singles stars participating across various pairings.
