Persistent rain caused delays on the opening day of the Generali Open in Kitzbühel, Austria. The first-round matches were halted for around four hours due to adverse weather conditions in the Austrian Alps. Francisco Comesana, seeded seventh, was leading Tristan Boyer 5-2 when play was suspended. Meanwhile, Daniel Elahi Galan had a 2-1 lead against Alexander Shevchenko.

The matches resumed at approximately 4:40 p.m. local time (CEST). Later in the day, local #NextGenATP player Joel Schwaerzler is set to face eighth seed Marton Fucsovics, followed by Hugo Gaston’s match against qualifier Norbert Gombos.

Alexander Bublik is the top seed at this event. He enters the tournament ranked No. 30 in the PIF ATP Rankings and recently won his first clay title at the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad.
