Jannik Sinner swiftly advanced to the second round at Wimbledon with a decisive win over fellow Italian Luca Nardi. In just one hour and 48 minutes, Sinner claimed victory with scores of 6-4, 6-3, 6-0. The top seed showed strong form in the London heat, converting five out of 13 break points without facing any himself.

Reflecting on his performance, Sinner expressed satisfaction with returning to Wimbledon: “I’m very happy to come back here. It’s such a special place for me.” He acknowledged the challenge of playing against another Italian but was pleased with his success. “The atmosphere as always is amazing,” he added.

This match marked Sinner’s return to Grand Slam play following his recent defeat by Carlos Alcaraz at Roland Garros. Despite that setback, Sinner emphasized looking forward: “It’s a new tournament. New chances, new challenges.”

Sinner demonstrated dominance on serve, losing only 12 points throughout the match against World No. 95 Nardi. His effective serving strategy paid off during crucial moments: “We worked a lot after Halle on the serve,” said Sinner.

Next up for Sinner is Aleksandar Vukic, who secured his spot by defeating Tseng Chun-Hsin.

Meanwhile, British player Jack Draper also progressed to the next round after Sebastian Baez retired due to injury. Draper led 6-2, 6-2, 2-1 when Baez withdrew from their match on Court No. 1.

Draper has been having an impressive year so far, highlighted by winning his first ATP Masters title in Indian Wells and reaching the final in Madrid. He now prepares to face Marin Cilic in the second round at Wimbledon.
