Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are set to meet in their first Grand Slam final at Roland Garros on Sunday. The match, scheduled for 3 p.m. CEST/9 a.m. EDT, will see the top-ranked Sinner aiming for his first French Open title and third consecutive major victory following wins at the US Open and Australian Open.

Alcaraz, the defending champion and a four-time major winner, has a strong record against Sinner with a four-match winning streak in their Lexus ATP Head2Head encounters. Known for their dynamic exchanges on court, both players exhibit power, precision, and agility.

Sinner commented on facing Alcaraz: “It’s fun and not fun… It’s both ways, but I think we try to push ourselves in the best possible way.” He acknowledged the significance of playing against Alcaraz in a Grand Slam final as “a special moment.”

The outcome of this match could impact their standings in the PIF ATP Rankings significantly. A win for Sinner would extend his lead over Alcaraz by 3,430 points, while an Alcaraz victory would reduce that gap to 2,030 points.

Sinner has shown impressive form at Roland Garros this year without losing a set and holds an 18-1 record for the season. His only loss was to Alcaraz in Rome last month.

Alcaraz praised Sinner’s current performance: “He’s the best tennis player right now… he’s destroying every opponent.” Despite needing four sets in several matches during this tournament, Alcaraz maintains momentum from previous victories over Sinner.

As they prepare to face each other again, Alcaraz expressed his appreciation for their rivalry: “I love that battle… it gives you feedback of how I can be a better player.”
