Just days after parting ways with coach Goran Ivanisevic, Stefanos Tsitsipas was seen practicing in Toronto under the guidance of his father, Apostolos Tsitsipas. The Greek tennis player, who once ranked No. 3 in the PIF ATP Rankings, trained alongside Karen Khachanov in preparation for upcoming matches.

Tsitsipas and Khachanov engaged in lengthy crosscourt rallies during their session. Tsitsipas is eager to make a significant impact at the tournament following a season start of 19 wins and 13 losses, as recorded by the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.

The 26-year-old athlete addressed his recent coaching change on social media, stating: “Working with Goran Ivanisevic was brief but an intense experience and a truly valuable chapter in my journey. I’m thankful for the time, effort and energy he dedicated to me and my team.”

Ivanisevic shared insights into their amicable split with media outlet HRT, mentioning that they had a friendly conversation about ending their professional relationship. “We had a nice chat,” Ivanisevic said. “He decided to try again with his father…the only person who can coach him is his dad.”

Tsitsipas is seeded 23rd in Toronto and will face either Australian Christopher O’Connell or a qualifier in the second round.
