Panna Udvardy secured her 13th career title on Saturday at the W75 Blois tournament by defeating Julie Belgraver with a score of 7-5, 6-3 in the final. Udvardy, who was the top seed in France last week, faced a challenging start as she needed three sets to overcome Astrid Lew Yan Foon in the opening round. This initial test seemed to have set the pace for the 26-year-old Hungarian, as she proceeded to win her next four matches without dropping a set.

This victory marks Udvardy’s return to winning form since her last title at the WTA Buenos Aires 125k in 2022. The recent win is her 12th on clay and on the ITF World Tennis Tour. After falling out of the top 150 in the WTA rankings earlier this month, Udvardy is making strides back up and currently holds the world No. 152 position.

In other news, Dominika Salkova claimed her first title of the season at W75 Zagreb by defeating local favorite Tara Wuerth with scores of 2-6, 6-3, and 6-3 in the final. The Czech player, aged 20, now has three titles at W75 level and seven overall on the World Tennis Tour, with four titles won on clay and three on hard courts.

Meanwhile, Janice Tjen was named May’s World Tennis Tour player of the month after winning her fourth consecutive title at W50 Taizhou. The Indonesian player has achieved an impressive streak of 20 match wins and has not lost a set in her last 40 games. Tjen’s performance has propelled her to a new career-high ranking of No. 210 in the WTA standings.
